Glass Door Restaurant in Porto Vista San Diego Review

I really want to love this place, here is my report after having been 10+ times.

View: Great. Unusual angle of San Diego

Food: Really sub-par. The last time I went my friend ordered the "cheese plate" (after being underwhelmed by numerous offerings). I could have made a better cheese plate if I went to vons and cut up some low grade brie.

Prices: Not horrible for drinks. For the food, even "free" would be a rip off.

Service: Decent to beyond laughable. Last night was laughable. Bartenders so slow, I thought I was in a far flung Caribbean Island. (Minus of course the tropical breezes, music, aqua blue water and culture.) It can really be hard to get a drink here.

This place has so much potential, but I will only go for drinks now...and the view.

  1. thanks for the report. i was wondering about this place and if it would fall victim to the dreaded 'view' syndrome. i'd give it a whirl for drinks.

    1. someone on this board mentioned that it was ok but the service if I remember was ditzy and misheard what they ordered..
still haven't been time I have a gig at Anthology, I will stop in and have a drink.

Yeah, it is a great spot for pre-dinner drinks. (If they don't completely botch the service).

I live near there, in case anyone was wonder why I had been there 10+ times.
