Restaurant.com?

Are there any decent restaurants in New England on Restaurant.com?

Be very careful when using this website-I bought 2 certificates and the restaurant changed their mind and wouldn't honor them! The manager was very rude to me on the phone about it.
The website itself refused a refund-only offered a credit.

Can you tell us which place it was? I have had success with this site and have been introduced to a few interesting places. Thanks.

Did your credit card company remove the charge?

I would contact credit card company and they will reverse charge. Get your money back.

I just started checking out and the choices are somewhat limited in Central Mass, but for Sturbridge alone they have Rovezzi's and Cedar Street.

Try this place as well... NO conditions, just real gift certificates.

I love this place, and have bought over $1,000 worth of gift certificates so far.

Earle, I am aware of how to reveiw each state for restaurants, but being from Michigan I am hoping for local expertise on which ones would have good food. We will be spending time in Ma, Conn, Nh, Ri and Maine.
              Phantomdoc--thanks for the reminder.

There used to be a lot more, a few months back, but a lot of them at least in the Conn. market have pulled there offers.. I have used the Discount coupons from Restaurant.Com in the past for places in Ct. and in Maine, With good results. So if I were you ,go to the web site and put in the State your are interested in and look up whats available. Earle Ct.

Is there really anything in Southern CT that is worthy of Chowzing? I have been over the list for New Haven (and surrounding area), several times and the pickings are very slim IMHO for places I recognize, have ever set foot in or even have a mild interest in. Bar food kind of places are a dime a dozen.
Are there really some gems I am missing out on, like (possibly), Blue Pearl, or are they mostly just very mediocre places struggling to survive? I get mailers for half-off a second meal, or similar, (without the hassle or exposure on the internet), yet, of those I've tried, I wouldn't waste my time or money on again.
