Wednesday Dinner for 12 near UnionStation

Need a place for a group of 12 or so....This would be on Wednesday night.
(Boss taking Business associates out after a meeting. Seating around 6-630pm)

Restaurant should be close to Union Station so that we can WALK to it from the meeting.

Like all types of food and appreciate a menu made from the Heart:)
Big Wine Lovers. Fun bunch. A good chill/relaxing spot.

Thanks:)

PS.......Please include LINKS, address etc...........:)

Bymark isn't very far and won't be noisy at this time on a Wednesday.

Don't know what your budget is but Bardi's Steak House always does it right and is just around the corner from Union Station...(Expensive)

How about Biff's Bistro. The dining room is roomy and airy. It's an Oliver Bonacini restaurant so it has a fairly good reputation for consistency. It's a french bistro so the wine list is heavy on the french vineyards but it is also large and varied.

Here's a link to their website which has an updated menu:

The address is 4 Front Street East. It's just east of Yonge St.....practically right across from Union Station.
        Hope it helps.

I'd rec Biff's for buisness too. The food is decent and it is kitty-corner to Union. The private-function room at the back may be too large, but Biff's, as all O&B resto's, is set up for groups of all sizes. Just call them. I recall prices to be not crazy. Service is good.

Avoid Beer Bistro for anything but an after work pint sitting at the bar. Especially if you're trying to impress business people.

We went there recently with a group of 6 and it was a clown show. Horrible service, meals all coming out at different times, more than 15 minutes just to get a server over to place our drink orders and then an hour to get our meals. The servers forgot about us and I had to get up and get my own cutlery after asking multiple times for them to bring a missing piece. And there weren't many people in the restaurant, so they weren't being slammed at the time.

Of the places mentioned here, Biff's is always always reliable, because they get a steady flow of business eaters with bigger expense accounts.

I'd recommend hopping in a cab and heading up to the financial district. Actually, if you are *right at* Union Station, just walk north to Hy's steak house, as it will take you just as long as the walk to Biff's. Great room (high ceilings, blingy chandeliers, big booths, etc) good old school service, stiff cocktails, excellent steaks and gigantic tables to suit big groups. Every suit loves it.

Jump? It's in BCE place and it's a good size.

Reds probably fits the bill (especially since you mention you are wine lovers), although its a bit further up from Union (on Adelaide). Still walkable, in my opinion.

You might want to consider Forte. They have a great wine list and a tasty menu but the food is French so your group would have to be ok with a little butter and/or cream.

They are located at York and Richmond so it is indeed walkable to and from Union.

                  I'd also recommend Forte.

Although some of the food might be inspired by French cuisine, the food is more contemporary/continental bistro than traditional French. Fresh flavours, and not as much cream or butter as traditional French restaurants.

Brassaii might be another option for a group of 12, that's more of a "good chill/relaxing spot". It's about a 20 minute walk from Union Station.

Brassaii is great but may be a bit of a trek fora group (especially if they aren't walkers). It's at King and Spadina.

Beerbistro?? Or there was a recent thread talking up Biff's which made it sound like a reliable crowdpleaser and probably suitable for a corporate-ish event (although perhaps you'd rather avoid too corporate).
