The places are very different. What kind of food youre in the mood for would be the deciding point. If you want a happening bar scene, pick Macao. If you want ramen soup in a communal seating situation pick ippudo. Ive never been to scarpetta, and the spotted pig , which is always crowded, is good, but I dont think it lives up to its reputation.

The only one I've been to on that list is Scarpetta. And I would give a total and unqualified recommendation for Scarpetta. The food is incredible, the room is beautiful, and the service was phenomenal.

i haven't been to macao or scarpetta but all your selections are very different. it really depends on what you are looking for, when you are going and who you will be with.

i enjoy ippudo. it is great for a casual dinner, expect a wait. spotted pig is good but i didn't find the food great. the burger was yummy. we sat at the bar for lunch. it is a cool spot though so worth a visit. fig and olive is more of a date place or girls night out dinner.

I've been to all your places and hands down i say Scarpetta. One of the best meals i've ever had.

for casual italian i dont recommend Co. unless you want pizza. Casual italian i'd say Malatesta, Frank, D'andrea, ..... or maybe even Inoteca ,,,, ive never been to gemma or barbuto ,, but i was at Co. last nite ,,,

I ate at Fig and Olive (52nd) this week. We only had appetizers ( lots of them) and dessert. I am not motivated to return. The portions were tiny and our server was odd. She took our order and scratched her arm while doing it. Kinda creepy. I did like the Olive oil gelato...
