New Yorker in town for a day.Best place for lunch near the Pru?

I will be in Boston next week, with time between meetings for a (hopefully) wonderful lunch within walking distance of the Prudential. Price is not an issue, but since I'm flying up from NYC in the morning and returning in the evening, I'm hoping for one great Boston meal. Suggestions, please?

One other French restaurant not far from the Pru is La Voile.

Thank you all, and especially BBHound. This has been very helpful. If I'm lucky, there will be time for L'Espalier!

I agree with BBHound. Although, I'd say Sel De La Terre has a better burger than Abe & Louie's; rosemary pomme frites and adding foie gras to the burger trump the sweet potato fries; although, they are delicious.

The recommendations from BB Hound are good. I would lean towards L'Esplaier if I had to choose one though.

That's not as easy as it sounds. First, the area near the Pru lacks top places and second, most top places are not open at lunch anyway.

L'Espalier is open for lunch. It is one of the best in Boston. It will, however, be a leisurely lunch. If your time is limited, this may not be workable.

Sel de la Terre is very good and next door to L'Epalier. I have been very happy with my meals there.

Abe & Louie's. A steakhouse that has a reasonable lunch menu. Their burger is terrific, particularly if you get it with their sweet potato fries.

Atlantic Fish. Best fish restaurant in the area. Same ownership as Abe & Louie's.

Brasserie Jo. Reliable French brasserie with good food.

              Excellent suggestions.

L'Espalier will be a memorable meal. Call for a reservation.
