I am looking for a new sushi place since Sushi Taro will no longer be my go to place. I've been to the usual suspects - Suski Ko, Kaz Sushi Bistro, Makoto, etc., but looking for some others.. any recommendations? I would prefer in VA/DC area. Thanks!

Have you tried Tachibana in McLean? I really like it. But I am not a sushi expert. For a small family joint with normal things I like Sushi Zen in Falls Church.

yay for sushi zen! haven't thought about that place in ages. the one by harris teeter and pietanza, right? always surprised me the good eats you could get in that shopping center.

we like asahi in the courthouse plaza. it's not quite as good as kaz or makoto, but it's sooo low-key, it's never crowded and the sushi is fresh. they have the best crunchy spicy scallop roll.

If you're sticking to the Dupont-ish area, I really like Uni. I think it's reasonable and a lot better than Sakana and Nooshi. I used to love Thai Chef for their sushi, but the last time I was in there I felt like I was in a zoo.
