Anybody remember Cao Palace?

In Allston? It was my first exposure to Vietnamese food when I lived there in the mid 80's. I know they reopened in Kenmore Square for a while but then disappeared. Does anybody know if they ever re-opened anywhere else? Under a different name perhaps?

    Hi Folks,

Sorry to interrupt the discussion, but we'd like to ask that you please keep this thread focused on chow that's currently available in the Boston area, as opposed to nostalgia for Cao Palace or other restaurants. Thanks!

My first Vietnamese as well, a Saturday-morning ritual for years (our version of brunch), as well as a source for fresh fish on the grill at home. Xinh Xinh has stepped into that breach for me.

My first experience with Vietnamese food, too, and a fish store next door, which they took over...In the spot where Le's is now...eh, so sad. Never heard about them anywhere else.
