Red Velvet Cake to be shipped out of state
I'm looking for a very good Red Velvet birthday cake to be delivered to Philadelphia for my niece's birthday. Could you please recommend a place that can do it? I would prefer a cake that serves 6 to 8 people, but cupcakes will do if cakes can't be done. Thanks.

Find a place in Philly and order by phone? Is what I would do.
I've never had a good Red Velvet cake in NYC. I've tried many a Red Velvet cupcake, and I even had The Cake Man's red velvet. "Velvet" has been the farthest thing from my mind, they are all like sandpaper in the mouth.
I highly recommend that bakers read the pages of Best Recipe Cookbook devoted to mouthfeel, and pay attention to the lessons. Starting with you, Magnolia. When you get a cake that is like velvet in the mouth, it's such a pleasure.
