Astoria Dining

Where should we eat in Astoria?! We'll be there 2 nights. She loves seafood - I love steak. What about a nice place to grab a cocktail (without 20 somethings running around)? Open to all suggestions, regardless of what it costs! Thanks!

There's no steak, and rarely any red meat for dinner in fact, but for seafood, you really need to go to the Columbian Cafe. Fresh fettuccine rolled to order usually accompanies the seafood dinner specials, and the fish is never more than a day old.

Baked Alaska is good as is Silver Salmon Grille. Baked Alaska is on the River and the food was quite good although the service friendly, but not very polished. Silver Salmon is a little more upscale with a nice bar.

Try "Drina Daisy". They offer Bosnian food that is simply outstanding. It may not be exactly what you're looking for, but their lamb specialty is fantastic, the goulash is really good and the appetizers that we have tried are excellent. I've only eaten there once, but next time we'll make a special trip to Astoria to try more selections there.

Agreed. It is one of the best meals I had in the last year, frankly. Don't miss it. I went with family members, three of us, and everything seemed so interesting on the menu, we asked if there was some way we could try various things. They said yes (lovely people) and brought out this amazing, beautiful huge platter of just about everything on the menu. I've never seen so much food and it was just outstanding. Don't miss it.
