Any stores that sell SEA goods in Flushing?

More specifically, green papaya and kaffir (or makrut, whatever) lime leaves? I know there's a store in Woodside that may carry them, but I'm specifically looking at Flushing. Thanks.

The huge Asian supermarket on College Point Blvd a block from Roosevelt Ave. It's called Lotte's Assi Plaza. I have seen everything you can imagine there.

And their dozens of types of Korean banchan to go are fantastic.

Hmmm... I was actually there over the weekend. I didn't see green papaya, but I wasn't looking for it then. And I was definitely not looking in the freezer section for the kaffir lime leaves. Thanks for the info -- will take a closer look next time I'm at Assi -- or as DH likes to call it "Ass Plaza."

I've been to quite a few of them. There are a lot of places to purchase Chinese and Korean products as there's a large Chinese and Korean population in Flushing. But SEA is a different thing -- while I can find things like coconut milk and lemongrass, I haven't been able to locate kaffir lime leaves and green papaya -- hence, me asking the question here on this board.

I've definitely seen both at Assi in the past.

I just went to Assi Plaza because I am searching for a source for green papaya near my home...they don't have them at Assi Plaza. It is a nice place, mainly Korean with vast selections of anything you want for Korean food, beautiful beef, etc. There are some interesting and unusal vegetables and fruits. In the canned food area there is a typical array of some SEA stuff, good fish sauces, curry pastes, etc, but no better selection than any of the Chinese supemarkets in Flushing (and more expensive). Assi also has an eating area with various soups, fre things and sushi which might be fun to try.

I need to venture into Woodside, I think, to find fresh ingredients like green papaya for making Thai food. I have been getting it at a tiny place in the Bronx, would be nice to find a good source in Queens.

You might get lucky at Pacific Supermarket in Jackson Heights for green papaya.

Top Line on Broadway in Elmhurst sells, or at least used to sell, frozen kaffir lime leaves. I no longer buy them, because a few years ago I bought a Kaffir lime tree on Ebay for pretty cheap...get all my leaves by picking them now. I grow my own lemongrass also.
