re: maxzook
Here's the gist, please correct me if I'm wrong:
It has actually been leased for the past few months at 14917 Ventura Blvd, or rather than the sign advertising it for lease has been plastered with a LEASED sign for the past few months.
It was going to be a PInkberry, but supposedly they dropped out after finding it out it would be to arduous to comply with parking restrictions due to department of building and safety and zoning.
And now it continues to sit VACANT a year and a half later.
At least we have Fab's Hot Dogs to soften the blow.

re: monku
HA! Dont I wish! Me and about a thousand other folks. I honestly thought they would reopen someplace in the SFV by now. I know the owners got tired of working so hard every day and I guess after having to close down and do other things maybe that was easier. Fab's is ok but its very small and the ambience isn't the same. And I still hate canned soda. Have they put in a fountain yet?

re: SIMIHOUND
I wonder how many people signed up on their mailing list when they'll be opening up again. man, i could go for some of their dogs right now. and yes, unlimited refills from the soda fountain, yeah, when i go to fab's sometimes i have to get two canned or bottled sodas, but then again i like that they Dr. Brown's and as far as I know you can't get Brown's on a soda fountain.
The location still looks unchanged even though they have leased it out. Perhaps it will be another hot dog stand????

re: SIMIHOUND
you are correct, it just wouldn't be the same without Wiener Factory in it's old digs. I wonder if the bon mots and witticisms scrawlings are still up there.
what do you think?
that atmosphere was great, the steam from the dogs that filled the room.
at least i got a souvenir copy of the menu to hold on to, and look at whenever i seem to get nostalgic and misty eyed.
