Quick early dinner near Cal State in Long Beach?

Hi 'hounds,

I'm looking for a place to have a quick (very quick) and early dinner in Long Beach, as close as possible to CSULB on Monday evening. Basically something that serves dinner as early as 5 PM - we gotta be at CSULB at 6 PM. We don't really know the area well, so whatever that's off the Bellflower exit you can recommend is welcome. Also one of us will need to stay at a coffee shop sometimes between 7 and 10 PM, so if there's a great place she can stay at and read/work at that time it would help as well.
I know we could always pick up something from the deli at Bristol Farms, but if there are other options in that general vicinity, and if the options are cheap we'd be very happy to learn about them.

Thanks in advance!

  1. There is a great tea place w/food as well. Great place to sit, read and hang out. Cha for Tea in the Ralph's shopping center (Bellflower, 7th and PCH border it). On Bellflower, across from the Bristol Farms shopping area are 2 places that you can give a go. Hole Mole-love their tacos and Bai Plu for Thai. If there is another particular type of food you are looking for, please let us know.

    1. Just a mile away is one of the better Mexican food restaurants in the Southern California area; Enrique's. Try the pork shank which is a revelation. Excellent food generally and even really good salsa and chips to start.

They are open right from lunch (11 am) through the end of their dinner service (9 pm) so you can eat as early as you would like.

      1. Thanks so much! Thai or Mexican sound good, both of them. I'll pass on the choices to my carpooling companions. Do you know if Cha for Tea is open that late? TIA!

Sorry to reply so late, but I don't log on as much as I use to. Yes, they stay open to midnight I believe.
