Beach Seafood?
Staying in Burlington, Ma in July. Looking for great seafood (especially fried clam strips and lobster) on or near beaches within a day's drive. In fact, stayed there 2 yrs ago and had a hard time finding a good beach (besides Plum Island) within a short drive. Any recommendations?

Head up to Essex, MA (Crane's Beach is beautiful, parking is about $15, about 30 minutes from Burlington); many excellent options around Essex: Village Restaurant (sit down), JT Farnham's (take-out with tables outside), Woodman's (eat inside or out) or in Ipswich, The Clam Box (take-out). When you say within a day's drive, if you are willing and want truly spectacular beaches, drive to the National Seashore on Cape Cod and hit one of the beaches in Wellfleet (about a 2 1/2 hour drive), and do a search on the NE Board for seafood restaurant options: Arnold's along Rt 6 in Eastham is very famous. Another option is to go to Horseneck Beach in Westport and have a beautiful sunset dinner at The Back Eddy, a very good restaurant. Lastly, you can drive to Hull, MA, not a real pretty beach, and then dinner at Jake's Seafood.
