I really love brown rice sushi and I've had it at Snappy Sushi and Douzo. Am I missing any others that offer it?

Thanks!

Uni. it's a small-ish sashimi bar in the Elliot Hotel run by the folks who brought you Clio. i don't see the AYCE maki on the website so i don't know if they're still offering it.

Wow, Uni is probably the last place I'd imagine having all you can eat sushi.

I tried it back on January 19...overpriced and overrated to say the least. The two types available were the giant clam and himachi maki. They wrapped HUGE glob of brown/black rice around cucumber strips and tiny portion of chopped clam or himachi paste. There was so much rice that one can only taste the bland dry brown rice and crunchy black rice. I dipped it in soy sauce and then all I tasted was the soy sauce. Disappointed, I politely refused the waiter's request for refill and ordered from the a la cart sashimi menu. The individual sashimi presentations were good but ridiculously overpriced (example: domestic uni spoon w/ quail egg $17). It's no coincidence there was just one other couple eating at this place.

I think you mean Genki ya (west side of the street, around where Naples hits Harvard). I haven't been there, but they do advertise brown rice sushi.

      3. Whole Foods has great brown rice sushi.

Yeah, I second Whole Foods if you are just getting it to eat at home.

Yup, I third Whole Foods (River Street store in Cambridge, anyway) for take-out. Their brown rice is distinctly ungelatinous & they don't pack in so much that it overwhelms the fish and/or vegetables.

        2. Shino Express on Newbury has it, and they have some interesting rolls. Also fairly cheap, but if you're going for lunch, it's a good idea to get there by 11:45 or so, before they open at noon, as it's fairly small.

Looks like Shino is now Snappy, so you've got that covered already.
