Quest for Doughnuts

After a long absence I'm back in town, and with a holy mission: I must find powdered sugar doughnut holes for a friend stuck in a nursing home. I'm in Chestnut Hill; she's in Westford. All points between, around, and back again are fair game.

She said that DD stopped making them, but frankly, they are not the kind of thing I ever would have noticed.

If unable to score a hole in one, does anyone know if Linda's makes a powdered sugar doughnut, and if so, my chances of scoring one on Sunday morning?

Take the ride to Billerica, on rt 4 just south of Treble Cove Rd. Jardek's, all homemade "mom & pop" donut shop.

You have to respect a guy who names his shop "grandpa's"

Not sure how desperate you are, but Dippin' Donuts in Fitchburg and Leominster used to make powdered sugar donut holes, and they were good. It's probably a bit under 1/2 hr. from Westford out through Rte. 2.

Linda's, Verna's, and Ohlin's all make excellent donuts. Don't think any of them make holes. Though Ohlin's is pretty agreeable if you give them a few days warning I bet they would help you out. For that matter so might Verna's or Linda's.

While all three are good, my ranking is in the following order:

          Verna's
          Linda's
          Ohlin's
