Trying to keep this Chowhound on-topic. Wife and I are moving to Baltimore. What neighborhoods are best to look at for concentration of restaurants?

(and yes I have been searching the boards)

I live in Hampden and while it's not as restaurant heavy as I would like (although we have Woodberry Kitchen and The Dogwood) it's a great neighborhood!

I should add we also have Grano, Rocket To Venus, The Golden West, Suzie's Soba, Holy Frijoles, etc.

Mayfield/Lauraville/Hamilton area is up and coming and affordable. See the Chamilion, Parkside, Clementines, Hamilton Tavern, Red Canoe....

I could not agree more! Plus it's in a really great location as far as convenience to other restaurant heavy sections of town. And you can buy a whole lotta house in Hamilton!

Is there anything near Little Italy?

Sure. There's Little Italy itself. Right next to it is Inner Harbor East (mostly condos rather than individual houses), and Fells Point is on the other side of Harbor East (and Canton past that). Lot's of restaurants, but none of these neighborhoods are inexpensive.
