Any great places for Yorkshire pudding / popovers?
A weird quest to send you 'hounds on, but have a Yorkshire pudding crazy friend whose birthday is coming up so want to celebrate with some of his fave dishes around town.
In the past I've gone to Whale 'n Ale for their Yorkshire pudding cups (topped with thin slices of prime rib, horseradish and gravy!) but now that's off the menu and not available all the time -- so on the stake out for other places that offer it (preferably a la carte as opposed to a prime rib side)
Of course, popovers will work in a jiffy if Y puddings proved too hard to fine.
Thanks for your help and input!

BLT does have good popovers. IIRC the ones at Lawry's are more eggy and I think I liked them better, but I haven't been there in years.

Lawry's is the best for true Yorkshire Pudding, though, in fairness, I have not had the Sunday roast beef special at the Grill in several years and thus don't recall the Pudding there very well. For popovers, the ones at BLT are awesome and Mariposa in Neiman Marcus also serves very nice ones with jam and good butter as part of its lunch service.

re: New Trial
The Yorkshire pudding at Gulliver's in Irvine is about as good as Lawry's, but neither is great. I didn't know how good Y.P. could be until I began making it myself.
Like you, New Trial, I haven't had the Sunday prime-rib special at the Grill in a long time and don't remember the pudding there -- need to make the stop sometime soon for many reasons.

There's always Lawry's The Prime Rib for traditional Yorkshire pudding. Although I have not been, I've read very positive reviews of BLT Steaks complimentary popovers.
