Bespoke or UL

jsat Apr 23, 2009 08:27 AM

For restaurant week dinner what would be the better choice. We have the oppurtunIty to go to either one Friday night. I appreciate your rsponses and reviews.

The post below about resturant Week reports is great and I will add one to it.

It's hard to pick! I like both places, but they are very different. But I'll bet Urban League will not disappoint.

Union Leauge I think has a special feel to it and the food is always perfect.

Normally I'd say Union League, but not for this promotion - see my post about dinner last night. I am jealous you were able to get a table at Bespoke. I called two weeks ago and they said they were completely booked for every night already. I'm not that big on Bespoke, but their menu looks at least comparable to their regular menu, and thus looks like $29 is a great deal.

I read your report and that is what I was afraid of with UL. I happened to look on Open Table this morning and Bespoke had an oppening for Friday night. It was just luck.

Union League is a more unique experience with regards to the atmosphere and the service. But I think Bespoke has better food . . . I say this as a former Roomba employee, Franco knows whats up in the kitchen. I've always found the food at Union League to be a bit disappointing - good technique but the taste isn't worth the hype.

bespoke. Inventive and much more fun without the starched collar
