Wusthof sale

The Wusthof distributor in Briarcliff Manor is moving (to Norwalk, i think) and they're clearing out the place. I just picked up several first quality knives (the Classic line) at around 50% - 75% off. Also a few other odds & bits very cheap, but the knives are the draw. I've been to their sales before, but this one has a much wider range of inventory than in the past.

Runs thru the weekend, but based on the crowd today, it will get picked over pretty quickly. Particulars at

  1. Thanks so much! I used to be on their mailing list but suddenly wasn't for the last sale. I will hit this tomorrow morning!!

    1. Very much worth a trip. However I felt like using a knife on a few people in line today.
PLEASE remember that this is a corp, HQ and NOT a Retail store. They have 4-5 machines and the line can take some time.
Also be aware that while most of the product is outside under tent, there are some goodies inside. Best bet is to check out inside, then the tent and then get in line. Grab a hot dog and water and wait. Most folks are rather nice on line.

Yep went this morning around 11. Not TOO insane and quite convivial.

Best values sets of steak knives and gift sets of carving knife and fork.

They also had $300 Le Crueset Dutch Ovens on sale for $200... As much as I wanted one I couldn't spend $200 on a dutch oven!

I got cheese knife ($20), small cutting board ($5), mezzaluna ($20), onion goggles (silly for $14.99--impulse buy!), rubber spatula ($5), 8 in saute pan ($30 down from $80--Marcus Samuelsson name on it, looked kind of like All-Clad), long wooden spoon ($5) (french--I have bought them before from Wusthof and they age very well.

It is the last sale in Bcliff. :(

They had free popcorn, water and hotdogs--pretty adorable with a popcorn cart and a hot dog cart!

Also the service center is not open during this sale so you can't have knoves sharpened while you shop. The service center will be open next week.

Do they usually sharpen the knives on the spot, or do you need to leave them? I've been looking for a good place to have this done properly.

They generally did it while you waited.
If you can wait/plan ahead a few days, Chef Central in Hartsdale does a very good job with knives.

I have a very nice Lodge cash iron Dutch Oven-works real well for a great deal less.
