Another Group Dinner Private Dining Request

I have done my searching and come up with a few ideas, but I need some serious CH help. I am looking for a PRIVATE room with a cheap price tag, that can accomodate up to 35 people for a sit-down-dinner, ideally at under $30 or $25 /person.

People will be coming from all over the city, so we need somewhere near the DVP (Danforth?) or 401, or QEW. Parking will be needed.

The "hipness" of the place is not important. Price and privacy are.

Here are my thoughts so far:

Here are some quick thoughts:
Overjoy lounge at Joy on Queen St E - not sure about parking but the food is highly recommended - http://www.joybistro.com/pfunctions.html

Megas on the Danforth - probably a bit less expensive than downtown places - http://www.megasrestaurant.com/functions

Granite Brewery - i think the food and ambiance here is great, but that's just me - http://www.granitebrewery.ca/cater/ca...

Southern Accent - again, parking in the Annex maybe an issue, but something different and "hip" might ge tmore people out - http://southernaccent.com/catering/in...

Fuzion on Church - downtown location but again a younger vibe - http://www.dine.to/profile_features.p...

  1. All scary options...keep searching and you may want to add five bucks to that budget!

    1. Date, time or day of week may help the recomendations.. does it need to be totally private or just an area to yourselves?

        thanks for helping!

        weeknight, 5-8 sort of thing.

we would like a totally private space.

      2. You can book the entire second-floor room for private functions at Scallywags at St Clair & Yonge. Perhaps not the most chowish of places but within your budget. The website doesn't say how many people it seats but I've been there when it open just for regular lunch (that used to be their "smoke-free" area, lol) but I think it's big enough for your crowd.

It's not extremely close to the DVP or 401 or QEW but still accessible, with a subway station very close by. Also quite a few Green P parking garages around. There's one across the road but the one further up on Delisle is cheaper.

(pssst - btw, I like Granite Brewery too)

thanks for the suggestions! i added Sequel, Trappers and (sigh, chain) Milestones due their 401 friendly locales (relatively). will let you know where we end up going. of course, i get delegated this task and then everyone vetoes my choices, but hopefully chowier heads will prevail.
