Frozen Yogurt coming to westchester

o
ORyan Apr 21, 2009 08:49 AM

I was driving up central avenue a few days ago and noticed some guys working on a store. The name of the place was YogoBerry.

it looked like it was still being finished. I cant remember exactly where on central avenue i spotted it but i think it was somewhere in the Scarsdale section, i think a bit south of curry Acura.

I'm looking forward to having froyo in southern westchester. Anyone else know anything about this place?

I tried Yogo last night. $2.99 for a small which was plenty. My test for any of these froyo places is the plain flavor so that's what I went for. It had a chemical bitter aftertaste which pretty much every new froyo place has. Some more (Yogo) some less (Pink). My favorite froyo is still the Bloomie's Forty Carrots cafe but they close at 5PM.

After seeing the blurb in the Times today, we went to check it out. The prices aren't bad ($2.99 for a small which is not small at all-- but the $1 extra for a topping is a little ridiculous for things like sprinkles, though more reasonable for generous fresh fruit toppings) and I thought it was realllllly good! They had plain, strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate.

Apparently it's opening this weekend, and if you stop by to ask when they're opening you can try a free sample of their froyo...

Maybe I'm missing it in this thread, but does anyone know the exact address of the new Yogoberry or where/which shopping center on Central Park Ave. in Scarsdale it is? South of Curry Acura would be maybe in the strip mall with Panera, Denny's Children's Clothes, Door Store, Starbuck's but then again, maybe not.

It is just south of Curry Chev. In same strip of stores as Thai Restuarant. Two +/- fronts down from Restuarant.

Just north of the Mt Joy Ave intersection. Across the street from 7-Eleven and Rustico. Next door to New Star Korean market.

I saw it yesterday and talked to a friend of mine who owns a business on the same block. She says that it's supposed to open sometime in May. I absolutely can't wait!!!! I've been hooked on this kind of fro-yo since I visited Berryline in Cambridge.

The new Sedutto Ice Cream Shop on Garth Road has EXCELLENT plain frozen yogurt. They even have melba sauce like Bloomingdales.

Also Trader Joes sells a tart frozen yogurt.

yes i'm also looking forward to this. i like froyo cause its a good alternative to ice cream for a treat. maybe 200 calories vs. maybe 300-500 in ice cream

It's obviously a knockoff of Pinkberry, all the rage first in LA then Manhattan.

A high-end frozen yogurt with berries and other mixes. Overpriced... and to my palate, a bit sour.

Is that your review of Yogoberry or Pinkberry?

Company web site does not seem to be working at monent:
                      http://yogoberry.org/
                      www.yogoberryusa.com
Next time someone drives by, perhaps drop in and check it out.

As will I, or perhaps any other CHer in area, might do as well.
Web sites sort of work-not fully however. Rather odd.
