Lunch spot with a view? Coming from LAX

I'm picking up my mom from the airport (LAX), who will be visiting from the midwest for a long weekend. We'd normally hop on the 405 north to the valley, but I'd like to stop somewhere in Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, etc. for lunch. I'm primarily looking for a spot on the water that is clean, where we can eat outside, has good food and a view. Something in the $15pp ballpark would be best. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  1. If it's during the week, the Lobster on the Santa Monica pier could work. The lunch prices are decent and it has a nice view. I don't think there is outdoor seating, but I could be wrong.

    The Lobster
1602 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90401

    1. Probably the best restaurant in the Marina with an ocean/marina view is Cafe Del Rey. It can be pricey, but will work for your budget at lunch.
      No outdoors.

Shanghai Reds at Fisherman's Village has worked for me in the past, and it does have a nice outdoor area.

The Lobster is a good choice, but lobster is its best dish and is expensive. No outdoor, but because of all the glass, the view is fantastic.

I really like Cafe Del Rey and think it is a great place coming from LAX, with nice views of the boats in the marina. But it is well over $15 pp. Lunch entrees are in the low $20s, and starters, salads, and beverages will add up, not even counting tax, tip and valet. On the other hand, it is easily accessible from LAX heading up Lincoln then turning in on Admiralty Way, and your luggage will be safe. Their website includes detailed menus with prices:

      2. Figtree Cafe on the boardwalk would be perfect for this. I think Cafe Del Rey and the Lobster are going to be out of that price range.
