Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Post Baby Trip/Mia Dona

hi all! my husband and i are headed to manhattan this coming weekend. this will be our first solo (and much needed) trip since having a baby in janurary. we really enjoy eating well, and made reservations at: balthazar (after theater), union square cafe and mia dona. we have never been to mia dona, and i am on the fence about it. what's the word on mia dona? we want good italian food (could not get into il mulino), but are open to suggestions. also, any ideas for some great lunch spots? we are staying on the UES, but are willing to travel foe good meal!! hope you can help. thanks.

  1. I haven't been to Mia Dona, so I can't speak to it personally, but it seems that a number of people have enjoyed it--you should do a search on other threads. Up in your neck of the woods, I like Sfoglia (also Italian), and doing lunch there is much easier than dinner (haven't been in the past few months, so I'm not sure if they're also getting hit in the downturn, so maybe dinner's easier now too).
