Pines of Rome-what is up
the last two times I have been to the Pines of Rome- the tomato sauce has been pretty much a can of heated up plum tomatoes dumped from a can- no seasoning, not sauce like
this was in the case of a marinara sauce on spaghetti
the red sauce for the calimari
the sauce on my veal
the sauce with the egg plant
this was two visits in the last two weeks- it is a fluke that I have been there 2 times, but what ever. This has never been my favorite place, but other people I eat with like it. But even I don't remember the sauce being so bad.
And the veal is a mess.
Any one else?
I have been a casual customer of PoR's - that's a visit 1 to 2 times a year - for very long time. It never was great, it always was adequate. Last two times it was just awful, the beginning of this thread accurately describes the tomatoe sauce. Simply tasteless. FWIW the place was almost empty on my last visit and it was prime time Saturday evening. Probably will not return.
