Stew Stop- Old Montreal

Alyson777 Apr 20, 2009 07:00 AM

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Stew Stop located in Old Montreal at 372 St-Paul West, between St-Pierre and McGill streets. I have yet to try it and was hoping to see a review on here. My co- worker mentioned this place to me she has been several times and always recommends amazing restaurants. She has quite the pallet. I was told to try....The Moroccan stew or the Cincinnati CHILI. They also sell gourmet products in the entrance. If anyone has been let me know what you think...

Typical Old Montreal: a sandwich for $11 or a tiny portion of soup.

indeed. As Delmare mentions, it is quite expensive for what you get.
The chili is very good, with just the right amount of spice (for me, anyway...), but the accompanying rice was dry and odd.
The brownie resembles more a hard pudding than a brownie, and left a greasy film in my mouth.
But, hey, I work nearby, so it got me through the day.
