I went to La Nacional recently and was not that impressed. Soccarat's is better but it's also pricey in my opinion.

"I promise to report back..." Que pasa? Did you find what you were looking for?

Went to Sevilla last night for the first time in years. Had gazpacho and grilled calamari apps as my meal. Both too salty, but I've been cutting back on salt, so perhaps it was me. Yummy sangria, and DH had a nice piece of sole (also too salty). Enjoyed the meal despite, and it was pretty full up, which was good for the local economy.

I second Soccarat - I had a paella in Madrid when I was in college more than 10 years ago and have been dreaming about it ever since, and basically thought I would never be able to find it again without going back to Spain and finding that specific little restaurant, but then I went to socarrat a few weeks ago and got to relive that paella experience, almost to a t!

Have heard good things about El Faro, but haven't eaten there.

La Nacional makes terrific paella. The same owners have a paella restaurant called Socarrat that also serves gambas al ajillo.

I just went to La Nacional this past Saturday and can continue to recommend the paella there. My friend and I were actually planning on Socarrat, but it was an hour and a half wait on Saturday.
