I will be in Tucson in a couple of weeks and would like to experience the best tacos al pastor, carnitas, and carne asada tacos in the area. I will be staying at the Hilton El Conquistador but willing to drive to south Tucson. I would appreciate any recommendation(s)!

Pico de Gallo is quite good, although I've only tried their birria, barbacoa, chicken and shrimp tacos. Definitely worth a visit if in S. Tucson, though.

Taqueria Juanitos on Grant between Oracle and Grant is superb. It's about 15 minutes from the El Conquistador. Carne Asada is good, but the carnitas and the al pastor are superb. $1.35 per taco! It's a ganga! Stick with tacos, beans not so good.

The Obregon taco cart in the parking lot of the Food City at 22nd & Country Club has the best birria tacos I've ever ate, topped with loads of green onions and cilantro. The Sonoran dogs are good too. The food is great , there's a place to sit but they are not going to win any "elegance and atmosphere" awards if you know what I mean. Also you might want to try the old fashioned Sonoran style patty tacos at Michas on S. 4th Ave., they are excellent.
