Repying to a post

I am not always replying to a particular post in a thread. Sometimes it is just a general repy, not to any specific poster. When I hit 'reply', my post comes out with the name of the person before me even though my post has nothing to do with their's. Can I post something with no other name on it?

    1. Instead of clicking on "Reply" at the bottom of the last post in the thread, either click on "Reply" in the originating post at the very top of the thread or, alternately if you're at the bottom of the thread, click on "Reply to original post" below the string of posts and to the right of "Back to the Top." Your post will appear as this one does, as a reply to the original and not as part of a subthread.

Thanks. If I click on 'reply' to the original poster, and there are a lot of posts to the thread, will my post appear at the top of the page under the original post, or down at the bottom where I want it to be?

            1. re: Canthespam

Newest replies go to the bottom of the thread.

            2. Thanks. When I click to 'reply to original post', the reply box is under the top original post and I thought that that is where it would appear on the thread. Now I know.
