Bayfront San Diego Recommendations?
Coming to the Hilton next week for a conference. Will need dinner two nights and lunch for two days. Prefer walking distance, but don't know if that's even realistic. Love all foods and will appreciate all expense levels. Recommendations?
I would take the water taxi to Coronado and eat at Il Fornaio. Yes, its a chain, but the view is great, and the food is solid. Chowhounders, smack me down now.
I ate twice at the Fish Market last week- both the casual downstairs part, and the higher-end room upstairs. Me and my DH loved both meals we had, but the dinner upstairs was fantastic! It was really fresh, flavorful and the atmosphere was enjoyable. It was also a good change to have a fantastic waiter in Brian, who was attentive, knowledgable and gave great recomendations.
I got the dry sea scallops in a maderia reduction, and the hubby got halibut in a red-pepper sauce. We were very very happy we took a chance and ate there for our anniversary. We plan on going back every chance we get down to SD.
Anthony's has great coleslaw and chowder, but this past trip, the fish was just "eh". Not in any rush to go back.
Hope you have better weather than we did, it rained the whole time! (we love SD so much, we could care less, tho! Just happy to be there)
