Birthday dinner and entertainment? Alternatives to Sultan's Tent

I'm taking my girlfriend out for her birthday (mid-20s) and I'm looking for a restaurant in the GTA that will offer a memorable unique experience ("entertainment" doesn't necessarily mean a show). Sultan's Tent was a candidate until I read all the bad reviews on here. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you can avoid Sultan's Tent...please do. I went there twice, the second time, they completely forgot the second course! Although the waitress apologized, and bagged the course, it wasn't taken off the bill. The bill came to $180...I think rather high for a place like this. It's a place that you go to once, and that's it.

I would say go to Sopra Upper Lounge for jazz and food. Or Scaramouche for a lovely dinner, and then Panorama afterwards for drinks and music.

What about Embrujo Flamenco? Dancing and tapas. Some of the reviews are mixed on the food.

How about Harlem? It's southern soul food with an upscale twist. On weekends, they have live music upstairs.

Isn't there some place that does a dinner where the customers are involved in some sort of murder mystery play? Research it in advance though... could be awful!!!

Mysteriously yours at yonge and davisville...i heard the show is fabulous but the food is nothing to talk about..but I find most dinner and show places the same

Mambo Lounge on Danforth is a favourite of mine. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can hear live Cuban music after 8.30 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge. Food is delicious.
