Present Banquet 4

13 & 14. Imperial Delicacy Treasure-this was off the menu. An astonishingly rich and delicious five hour "Vietnamese Thanksgiving" dish with fall apart, intensely flavored duck. Perhaps the best duck dish I have ever had in my life.
15. Golden Tropical Orchard Winter Roll which was filled with house made ice cream.
16. Banana Fritters with Coconut Cream

Present is at 6678 Arlington Blvd. in Falls Church. Both the lobster and the 5 hour duck are available with a day's notice. Because of the intricacy of their preparation Present asks that they be served on a weekday rather than a weekend.

Gene is the owner of Present along with a 14,000 square foot night club in the Eden Center. He is an absolute ambassador for his restaurant with a great deal of justifiable pride in what he is presenting to the D. C. area. Much of Present is a level of Vietnamese cuisine not previously seen here or even on the West Coast where Gene is originally from. His Chef won several major competitions in Vietnam and Gene notes that it took him seven years to convince him to move to the U. S.

How good was this meal overall? I gave them a standing ovation at its end. We are indeed fortunate to have Present in the Washington, D. C. area.

These are the four photos which were not linked above. When you click on the second picture from the left please note the size of the bowl that the duck is presented in: it is HUGE! The analogy of a "Vietnamese Thanksgiving" in terms of its presentation is not that unrealistic. A real showstopper!

Too much seafood for me, but the duck sounds good. Glad you had a good time.

Is it worth going there for beef, pork, and noodles?
