Chinatown is sort of on the way, you'd take the 5 to the 110 south to Chinatown. You've got Yang Chow, dim sum during lunch time at Empress Pavilion and several other good Chinese restaurants. Then you'd probably take the 101 south back to the 5, towards Cerritos.

Isn't Alhambra/Monterey Park/San Gabriel between Burbank and Cerritos?

Does Cerritos itself count? There's a large Chinese community there and many good authentic Chinese restaurants in adjacent Artesia. Check out the 99 Ranch Market shopping center on Pioneer just south of the 91 freeway; the DiHo Market shopping center at 183rd and Pioneer; the Sea Palace shopping center on South street west of Pioneer and the adjacent new shopping center (not sure what they call it); and the shopping center on Norwalk Bl. just north of South St.
