Thoughts on Bakey's in the Financial District?
Curious about what people think about Bakey's on Broad St in the financial district. While I hate to admit it, I saw a piece on that PG show that focused on the sandwiches which of course, I thought looked pretty good. So whose been and what are your thoughts? Should I bother?
I wasn't too impressed. The chicken salad sandwich was boring, and it was really expensive. I also didn't see what was so great about the "famous beans." That said, I hate to see places like this disappear, seeing as it's clearly been there since the paleolithic era.
It's a great place to meet an old friend or have a casual business lunch, but the food isn't memorable in spite of seeming pretty fresh and homemade - and the prices just reflect the neighborhood (high overhead).
