GK Cafe, Greenville NC. Soul/Country/Southern

An absolutely excellent new soul food place has opened up here in Greenville. It's on 10th St., out in front of the strip mall that houses Ming Dynasty and Tortilleria Yineth. I went yesterday and had country style steak, yams, potato salad, and mac and cheese. The place smelled wonderful; always a good sign. The yams and potato salad are among the best I've ever had- right up there with Carol's in Robersonville, which I urge you to try if you haven't already.

This week's Hot Dish in the Reflector has the contents of the menu, so you can pick which day you want to go on. The menu consists of a rotating pair of daily specials; yesterday was baked turkey wings and country style steak, plus your choice of vegetables.

It's very reasonably priced, too. I got a dinner plate, a drink, and an extra side, and it came out to around $8.50.
