Applebees Sliders Suck
This evening I was taken to Aplebees for a short after work meeting. Drinks were served, and tyhe nhost had ordered cheeseburger sliders for everyone, as finger food would work with the meeting.
The burgers were supposed to have cheese, onions and the Applebees signature sauce.
Two had cheese, two had onions, only one had cheese, sauce and onions.
Absolutely, dry and inedible...................
The host complained to the manager and was told that they were made to specs.
Somehow I don't think the corporate specs called for dried out lumps that have whatever condiments the cook feels like puttting on them.
The host told the manager that he could keep the food and drink and we all (6) goit up and walked out. The host did stop and give the waitress a twenty, telling her it wasn't her fault the food was garbage and the manager an idiot.
If this is the best Applebees can do, I won't be back. New ownership from the IHOP gang doesn't seem to be helping.
I'm fairly tolerant of any restaurant, especially when I'm travelling and busy. On a recent trip with coworkers the closest option was Applebee's. I went along with the group but when we were being seated and saw the menu I had to bail. We walked a little further to Chevy's -- not a place I'd visit by choice but it was way more palatable than the Applebee's options.

As a guest, it is not my place to call corporate and complain. That is the perogative of the host. I was not out any money for a bad meal.
I also don't understand how you got a juicy burger when they say they will only cook to a minimum of medium-well. I prefer my burgers rare. It's very interesting that Applebee's will make the chop steak dinner rare (it's only a bigger burger) but not burgers that come on a bun. The manager could not explain that stupidity to my satisfaction.
I won't be giving them another chance..................
I've never had anything decent to eat there, and I have to eat there several times a year because my friends like eating there. I just don't get it. Never one decent meal.
