Lunch in Portland

tvshel Apr 15, 2009 02:31 PM

I have friends coming in from San Francisco for the weekend to visit me in Portland. Since I am relatively new to the area, I don't know many places to get lunch (aside from Ken's Artisan Bakery, which I love). I'd appreciate a few recommendations for places in SE (where I live) and in the Downtown/Washington Park area (where I plan to take them). They're both San Francisco foodie-types, so I'd like to impress them with what Portland has to offer.

Bunk or Meat Cheese Bread for sandwiches--both are in inner SE. For something with a little less scruffy atmosphere, Evoe (while it's on the sometimes scruffy SE Hawthorne, it's not next to the Pole Dancing Boutique). I would be happy to take someone from SF to any of those.

If you want to go more upscale, Wildwood (on NW 21st and Overton, not far from Washington Park)) does a great lunch, as does ten-01 in the Pearl (1001 NW Couch, close to downtown).

Broder at SE 25th/Clinton for breakfast/lunch
Simpatica at SE 8th/Ash for weekend brunch
