Post Funeral reception Culver City

Hi Hounds! I'm desperately looking for a little place to have a post funeral reception (about 15 people) in the Culver City area (Slauson Avenue) on Friday.
Unfortunately I need to watch finances so I was wondering if there is a little mom & pop shop type restaurant in the area that might have a small back room. Would love Italian, but deli/sandwiches is fine too.
Anyone have any ideas? We're not familiar with the area at all. The funeral is being at Holy Cross Cemetary, but traveling 5 to 10 miles wouldn't be a problem either.
Thank you!

For a happier occasion, we took over the patio at Bella Roma SPQR on Robertson, in Beverly Hills--it's a straight shot up Robertson from Culver City--and the owner worked with us to come up with a dinner that was an incredible bargain, delicious, and appealed to both the most and least sophisticated of our crowd. It's BYOB, so you won't be saddled with a big bar bill. Especially if your timing is a little off of lunch or dinner, he would probably be happy to work with you.

Brunello's has a back room -- perhaps if you told them it was for a funeral, they might cut you a deal.

If this is in the middle of the afternoon (avoiding the lunch and dinner rushes) I'd suggest Victor Jr.'s. It is exactly an Italian pizza/sandwich/salad deli, very inexpensive, and your group could occupy the handful of tables outdoors on their little sidewalk patio. Order a pizza or two to share, they also do excellent eggplant parm and good Italian salads, meatball subs, cold cut subs, etc. Hard to spend more than about $10 per person. On the north side of Washington, across from the big studio, probably a mile or less east of the 405 or Sepulveda.

If 26 Beach is a litle more than you want to spend try C & O Trattoria, a few doors west of 26 Beach. I think the have some bigger dishes and you can do family style. There is also Casa Sanchez on Centinella, the restaurant not the taqueria. Good Luck.

Just at the end of the Marina Frwy and up 1/2 mile is 26 Beach, (Lincoln & Washington) just call them and say you are having a small get together of 15 people, I am sure they will let you order off the menu. Salads start around $12 and so do the burgers. The also have some pastas starting around $18 and up. I know they are doing some lunch specials recently, special meaning new dishes, not really discounted. Ask to be seated in the dinning room, should be alittle less crowded inside. Sorry for your loss. www.26beach.com
