Dark Russian rye bread from Whole Grains Bakery

I don't know who else sells this besides Grocery Outlet, but this is a very good Russian rye. This blog with a photo says it best

"Whole Grains Bakery makes a dark russian rye bread that is full of pumpernickel and just the right amount of caraway seed. This bread toasts nicely, and each bite is earthy and flavorful"

It does toast very nicely. The caraway seeds sprinkled on top are very nice. There's a decent enough ingrediant list, much better than most supermarket breads : Unbleached flour, water, pumpernikel flour, caraway seed, yeast, sugar, salt, soybean oil, caramel color, calcium propionate (to preserve freshness).

Not artisan or fancy-dancy, but good. At GO it was selling for the amazing price of $1.29.

I think has something to do with Posh Bakery because they share the same address in Santa Clara.I'm not a fan of Posh Bagels, but I do like this bread. I think at one time Whole Grains was located where Esthers German Bakery is now located.
