Dividing The Middle Kingdom

Kris in Beijing Apr 12, 2009 10:27 PM

1) we don't generate TENS of THOUSANDS of posts a year like the US based places do; CHOW has no IT reason to divide : )

2) I'd delete this if I knew how...

Okay, please regard this as a unauthorized loose poll.

As a Beijing-based Chowhounder, I see a marked difference between the number of mainland topics [fewer and further between] and HK/Macau topics.
I actually feel hesitant about posting on what I "feel" is a more HK-based board.

Should we ask the HeadCHOWs to separate HK/M and Mainland into different categories?

No way! Chowhound is politically correct in this instance. Don't let the Hongkies get you down, POST!

Taiwan deserves an independent board! :)

You might find that posts about a lesser tread region would be more valued. If feel that the mainland China posts are less frequent, you can actively change that by posting. Even quick notes about a delicious snack on the way to work would be helpful.

Try to be thankful you don't live in "South America" or "Africa" or "Greater Asia" or "International". You can be kosher but not halal. And what if you live in one of the Central Asian republics - just to name one area - without a CH home? Quit yer bitchin'.

Kris, channel you energies at home. You are expecting way too much from Chowhound.
