Need a restaurant along or near Ventura Blvd for next Saturday night. Early evening, with a baby. Open to anything around 25 dollars a person. Thanks

  1. I keep reading the reports on Hummus Bar & Grill with a "hungry eye" as it were. Sounds like a good place for baby too.

My daughter, a big fan of Israeli food, went to Hummus B&G last night, and reported that it was excellent, and very much like spending time in Israel. Aside from the food (I don't remember what she had), she was particularly taken with the cute Israeli boys in their strange, tight/transparant shirts, standing around outside, smoking, and arguing in Hebrew.

Thanks for another positive report. I used to go to Tempo on Ventura in Encino quite frequently when my office was out there.

    2. Ventura Boulevard is at least eighteen miles long (Universal City to Calabasas). Any specific area you'll be in?

      1. Stanley's is good with kids, and to add...

        Out Take Bistro
        The Great Greek
        Alcazar
Boneyard Bistro - but this will blow your budget a bit
        Lala's Argentinian

...and right north of ventura on van nuys is Oliva Italian

          1. Where did you end up (and how was it)?

            1. We went to Itzik Hagadol in Encino last Saturday night. It is an Israeli-style salad and kabob place, and we really had a good time. Plenty of good food and a very lively atmosphere. The address is 17201 Ventura Blvd, Encino; and the phone number is (818)784-4080.

We started with the salads and fresh flatbread. It was almost too much. Then we had the kabobs. The lamb was very good, but the entrecote (rib-eye) was spectacular.

              Great family atmosphere.

Just so my confusion is slightly less than normal; Were you part of the group that went out with the OP (paprkutr) last Saturday?
