Fried gizzards

crosby_p Apr 11, 2009 11:06 AM

Several of us hounders visited Lexington Market a few weeks ago and had great fried chicken gizzards from Parks...does anyone know of any other place that has them? I'm thinking NY fried chicken, or Tyrones....suggestions?

Just don't forget an ice cold beer to wash them down!

I remember someone saying that the wing stall in Cross Street market has them.

We always get ours at Mondawmin Chicken in Cross Street Mkt, but I think I've seen them at the other chicken place there too - Western Fried Chicken? Chuckie's in Hollins Mkt. has them too; haven't made it over there yet but want to.

As the lovely and talented MakeMeDinner said, we get ours from the Mondawin Chicken in Cross Street Market, and they are quite good.

I've been to Chuckie's and thought they were the best chicken box place around. I have not specifically tried the gizzard box though.

Actually, I have heard that Make Me Dinner has the best and tenderest gizzards in town! I believe it is somewhere near Cross Street Market.....

You're lucky. DC is woefully inadequate in the gizzard department. I've only found them in two Chinese carryouts downtown: Danny's on H and Hong Kong Carryout.
