San Sebastian...Akelare

I will be in SS in July. Am thinking about going to Akelare for lunch. Can anyone give me an idea of what the cost might be for two? Do they only offer tasting menus at lunch or can you order a la carte? Thanks.

If memory serves, you can order ALC and get everything in half portions, so you can create your own tasting menu

I ususally feel that a tasting menu is a waste because my partner and I can order different things and share them, getting to taste as many dishes as we would have had with the tasting, but for less money. In the case of Akelare, though, they have 2 different tasting menus, so we each ordered a different one, and it was truly exceptional.

There is both a tasting menu (2, actually) and an a la carte menu available at lunch, and they are very happy to mix and match (my wife ordered 2 dishes a la carte, I did a tasting menu). My recollection is that the tasting menu was around 130 euros. More info on our visit here ->
