clambake in CT.
Hey all! A bunch of us come up fr. the Maryland/D.C. area to Voluntown, CT for Memorial Day weekend every year. A friend has a bunch of cabins on a lake. Last year we did a great pig roast one day. This year we are interested in doing a clambake. So my questions are:
1. Are there any seafood shops in Norwich or surrounding areas that would cater something like this (for a reasonable price) on Memorial Day weekend, probably Sunday?
2. Even more preferable, does anyone have recs. for a place to buy the lobsters, clams, etc. and cook them ourselves?
Whatever other suggestions you New England Chowhounders would have would be wonderful. Thanks.
You can contact Abbott's Lobster In the Rough and have them make up a clam bake for your group and take it back to (I'm guessing it's Beach Pond) and cook it there yourselves. It can be great fun and a great meal. There is also Seafood Etc. in Norwich who can hook you up with everything you need. Have a great time. Maybe I'll take a walk down and say hello.
