We're looking for something cheaper than the Inn at Little Washington in the Shanendoah area. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. We've had very nice lunches and dinners at the Thornton River Grille in Sperryville, VA. This is about 5 to 10 minutes from the Inn at Little Washington.

    The weblink is http://www.thorntonrivergrille.com/

The website provides directions/location and menu info. I think its right at the intersection of Highways 522 and 211 right in the small crossroads of Sperryville.

It's casual, but very nice food.

Hope you can give it a try.

strongly second the thornton river grille.

    2. Hi-Neighbor in Strasburg is a really good Home-Cooked type of meal.

      1. Dinner at the Joshua Wilston House in Harrisonburg has been outstanding. I used to travel there for business and would have dinner there every nite. That was about 2 years ago. Not sure if it is still as good but you should check it out.
