I'm going to the game today and wanted to know if anyone has tried the new Fenway Frank?

  1. I went to opening day, and yes I tried the new and improved Fenway Frank. And yes, it really is a little bit better than I remember! I don't know if it's because of the new supplier, or because it was opening day (a minimal chance of them being leftovers!) but they did taste better than greywater franks.

It seems that Speed's has raised the bar in Hot dog taste in the Boston area!

I agree-I had one opening day as well- it tasted great (for a hot dog) aside from the fact that they were out of mustard and I had it only with ketchup...not my preferred dog at all!

Seriously how do they run out of mustard on Opening Day???

That was exactly my thought! Well right after- can I return a hot dog?? Im not a ketchup only person. Very sad

This would have really upset me. I'm a "mustard and only mustard on Fenway Franks, unto death" kind of Sox fan.

Let staff know on that as a foodie I'll find em and get it even if its late in a game ,,,

      2. Fenway Franks--one of my great memories from a baseball stadium tour last year!

Tell me they didn't change the bun.

        1. I liked the old dog better. The new ones aren't bad...the olds ones are just nostalgic to me. Kinda disappointing.

I bought some and made them at home ballpark-sytyle -- steamed dogs and buns. I thought the flavor profile was closer to a kosher dog than a Kayem Old Tyme, very beefy, a touch of garlic, and some mustard seed aftertaste. They really were bold compared to the dogs I recall from recent trips to Fenway, which I always thought were rather bland. The best part was the size of the dogs - a nice 2 ounces per link.

          2. Well I did get my Fenway Frank yesterday. It was an improvement and not bad if you are part of a captive audience. But it took me a whole inning to get mine. I'll stick with my usual from the Sausage Guy in the future.

            1. The new franks didn't taste much different to me.

I absolutely couldn't eat one without mustard though.

New crew on the kettle corn was clueless on Opening Day - totally burnt...

              1. Are they all beef?
