Mantou bread near UCLA

helpme7777 Apr 8, 2009 07:23 AM

Hi, I live at UCLA and want to get some mantou bread from a good Chinese bakery but I don't know where. I want to get it for a friend. Does anyone have recommendations? Also, I don't have a car but can try via bus or a friend

Stephanie, if you can't find it at a suitable bakery, call any 99 Ranch Market -- it's probably in the freezer case.

Nothing near UCLA/Westwood that I can think of.

You're best bet would be take public transportation (since you don't have a car) to chinatown and hit up any one of the bakeries there, or one of the Chinese markets.

I would give you a number to a mobile "Mantou Maker" that makes his own stuff and delivers all throughout SoCal ... but such posts are verboten on these boards.
