Vegan Sacramento?

I have a vegan friend who lives in Sacromento, and I'd like to treat her to a nice meal out by buying her a gift certificate. I know about Andy Nguyen's, but is there anywhere else you can recommend that does a good job with vegan meals? Thanks very much in advance.

Wow, thanks. Are any of those particular favorites of yours? Any of them have a nicer atmosphere than the others? I really appreciate your help.

My favorite is Sunflower. But it's just a take out shack with some tables outside and a couple of tables inside. It about as purely vegan as it gets.

Au Lac is Vietnamese, Udupi is Indian. None of these are really high end dining places. They are vegetarian, but whether they are strict vegan I don't know.

I love, love Udupi. Great food!! It's vegetarian..not sure about vegan. Ravenous Cafe has a vegetarian risotto that is to die for. A fabulous restaurant...it's Biba good.

We ate there just this week....love it!!

If Udupi is Indian (as I expect it is, with that name) then I doubt it is vegan, since Indian food tends to use ghee as it's fat. But I'm still thrilled to hear about it, for when we get out there for a visit.
