I'm going to Spain in 2 months
We are taking a family vacation to Spain and I would like to know what and how much I can bring back to the US. In the way of food meat product/cheese/wine/olive oil and etc. My daughter in law came back from there last year and some jamon she brought was confiscated but she was allowed to keep the cheese and olive oil. thanks for your help
Meat is almost never allowed into the US, neither are fresh vegetables. From anywhere. The best place to find out is the US Customs dept.
For specifics on what you can bring back and the corresponding fees, download the invaluable free pamphlet Know Before You Go online at www.cbp.gov (Click on "Travel," and then click on "Know Before You Go! Online Brochure.") Or contact the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20229 (tel. 877/287-8667) and request the pamphlet.
