Maurice's BBQ - Anywhere, South Carolina

Well we tried another Bessinger brother yesterday. We were on our way from Charleston to Chapel Hill to watch the BIG GAME in the Smith Center. This review is not for the original Maurice's, but for one of the chain stores.
There will be two reviews to follow...one from my fiance and one from me.
First, my fiance's review. She will sum up her Maurice's BBQ experience in two words...IT SUCKED! Oh...sorry...she's sitting here and just corrected me...she said, "IT SUCKS!!!"
Now for my review.
We got a small pork sandwich and a large beef sandwich. With two drinks we paid just over $16. WOW that's expensive...you'd expect a euphoric bbq experience with those prices. The only thing euphoric we experience yesterday was seeing the Heels whoop up on Mich St (oh how sweet). My fiance got the pork sandwich and it followed suit with the other Bessinger pork I've had previously. It was ham, dry, and simmered in their crappy mustard sauce. I don't mind a good mustard sauce, mind you...but the "famed" Bessinger recipe is one of the worst I've tried. Her pork also tasted a bit scalded...from sitting in a steam table pan too long or at too high a temperature. The strange thing is that her pork was slightly on the cool side. She was sorely disappointed. My beef was brisket and the sandwich (large) had a good portion on it. The problem was that it didn't have much flavor at all. The brisket outside had been coated in their mustard sauce, but was barely detectable. It's strange that they were selling "Maurice's Beef Rub", but the beef itself tasted like it was unseasoned.
The good thing is that they have a counter full of bbq sauce, seasonings and such for sale so that you too can cook up some crappy bbq.
I don't think we'll be going to a Maurice's anytime soon.
