What to order at Pampano?

Adrienne Apr 7, 2009 11:02 AM

My Dad is going to Pampano tonight for the first time and is skeptical. Any suggestions or opinions?

Thanks.

I have been there once and will never go back. Definitely sub-par and overpriced. Is Pampano definitey where he will be going or can he change his reservation to somewhere else

I've enjoyed my meals there, though I agree that it is quite expensive. I liked the lobster tacos, though I wish there were more of them. I don't recall not liking anything I had there, but it has been a while. I think that their lunch prix fixe is actually quite a good deal.

FWIW - I don't really think of it as a "Mexican" restaurant, but as a primarily seafood restaurant, with strong Mexican influences.

I know a lot of people on CH love this place, but I was not impressed by the two experiences I had there. Prices are high considering the portions, OK food but nothing great.

I will say that I've usually been there for business meals, which means I'm not picking up the tab.

It was chosen by an acquaintance and he didn't really ask to have input. He wound up ordering Golden Bass which he said was fine but it was too pricey for what it was. Thanks for your feedback everyone.
